Our shop opens for custom artwork every 2-3 weeks with a rotating selection of products. Once the website is open and your order is placed, we ask that side profile photos are submitted within 24 hours. This timeline helps us stay on track to deliver stunning silhouettes for everyone for the specific product. All the hard work you put into capturing the perfect photo is absolutely worth it—it ensures the portrait we create looks amazing and reflects your vision.

How to Capture the Perfect Side Profile for Your Custom Portrait
- Eye Level: Hold the camera so the subject’s ear is centered in the frame.
- Straight Posture: Have them sit or stand straight and face directly to the side.
- Details to Capture: Make sure you can see one eye and both lips (top and bottom). Don’t turn too far where the opposite cheek or eye becomes visible.
- Neutral Expression: A calm look works best, as smiles don’t translate well into silhouettes.
Tips for Hairstyles
- Long Hair: If hair is below the shoulders, tie it up to avoid it looking bulky in the final silhouette.
- Flyaways: Tidy up any stray hairs. If needed, we can adjust digitally—just let us know!
- Bows/Accessories: we can add these from our options even if they are not included in the photos! You'll be able to customize this when checking out.
For Newborns: Take the photo while they’re sleeping on your chest, legs, or in a crib. Angle it so their profile is fully visible.
For Toddlers: Keep them still by playing a video, letting them watch outside, or handing them a toy at eye level. If they’re on the move, try recording a video and taking a screenshot—this works great!
General Photo Tips
- Lighting: Use natural light near a window or outside. Avoid harsh shadows or direct sunlight.
- Background: A busy background is fine—it won’t affect the silhouette.
- Camera Height: Keep the camera at the same height as their face.
- Take a Few Shots: Capture several photos to give us options. Feel free to send us extra on IInstagram - we are happy to provide feedback!
How to Submit:
- File Type: these can be images taken on your cell phone or camera.
- You can upload when ordering on the website, sending through Instagram with your Order Number, or replying to you confirmation email.
